With Josh's long-standing explosive license and innate talent for spectacle, paired with Nadine's keen eye for detail and organisation skills, Blackforrest Fireworks Displays was born out of their shared vision to bring joy and excitement to audiences far and wide. Josh, the mastermind behind the explosions, has been enamoured with fireworks since he can remember. IMPORTANT INFORMATION
WHO CAN USE FIREWORKS
By law, fireworks are classed as a type of explosive. Therefore in Victoria, only licensed pyrotechnicians or people under their direct supervision can use fireworks. Before they are used, a number of authorities must be notified and approval must be obtained.
Blackforrest Fireworks Displays uses a licensed pyrotechnician and is fully insured for up to $20 million in public liability.
We apply and follow all relevant state and federal codes. Precautions are in place to ensure the health and safety of you and your guests.
Every show from small indoor to large outdoor displays are planned in depth and safety risk assessments are completed.
WHO NEEDS TO BE NOTIFIED
Licensed pyrotechnicians who intend to set off fireworks, must give at least 7 days' notice to WorkSafe.
The local council, shire and other relevant bodies such as the fire authority, police, and the neighbours in the vicinity must also be notified at least 7 days prior to the date of the proposed display. In some cases a longer notice period may be required.
separation distances
Pyrotechnicians must comply with separation distances outlined in Regulation 156 of the Dangerous Goods (Explosives) Regulations 2022. Each fireworks display plan is reviewed by WorkSafe for approval and are subject to appropriate separation distances from the public and property for the size of the display to ensure no overhead wires or infrastructure will interfere and the appropriate safety measures are in place.
fireworks restrictions
The display of fireworks is dependent on multiple considerations to initiate. Weather plays a major factor in these conditions. The temperature, relative humidity, windspeed all need to be taken into account prior to event. Please be advised, this may mean your display could be cancelled and/or rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances.
